Energy policy

Our energy policy according to DIN EN ISO 50001

With this energy policy, Eisenwerk Brühl GmbH undertakes to continuously reduce energy consumption and the associated CO2 emissions, particularly in the main and ancillary foundry facilities, in a sustainable manner and in compliance with statutory requirements. This is done on the basis of energy targets, which are set annually by top management and compliance with which is regularly monitored. The target definition is based on past consumption and production data as well as the economic efficiency of a measure.

The energy policy is realized through the implementation of a complete energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001, with which we ensure that

  • The type and amount of energy consumption and energy use are appropriate
  • Energy consumption is constantly measured, monitored and evaluated,
  • Significant energy aspects are regularly recorded, reviewed and communicated,
  • The requirements regarding energy use, energy consumption and energy efficiency are complied with above and beyond the applicable legal and official regulations,
  • processes and activities are permanently reviewed, evaluated and continuously improved in terms of their energy efficiency,
  • The results of the energy-saving measures are recorded, analyzed and evaluated at regular intervals,
  • The energy efficiency of products and systems is taken into account in planning and procurement in order to improve energy-related performance in the long term,
  • Necessary resources and information are made available by the management to achieve the energy targets and
  • The performance of the energy management system is reviewed through regular internal and external audits.

The cooperation of all employees and service providers is necessary for the implementation of the energy policy. Employees are comprehensively informed and integrated into the energy management program.

The company’s energy policy applies equally to all areas of the company, all activities and processes in order to ensure the continuous improvement of energy performance.
